BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER

The mission of the SOAR Foundation is to secure financial support for the development of programs and facilities for the Sisters community, primarily through Sisters Park & Recreation District.

Established in 1995, the SOAR Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization established to raise funds for programs and projects outside of the Sisters Park & Recreation annual budget. For example, the SOAR Foundation was responsible for raising more than one million dollars for the construction of the Coffield Community Center.  Since only a small portion of SPRD’s budget comes from local tax dollars, we endeavor to supplement its budget for specific programs and projects through appropriate acquisition and management of grant funding as allowed by the Internal Revenue Service.  The funds are managed by an independent volunteer Board of Directors appointed to three year terms.
